More NHL offseason: | | | | There was some terribly sad news out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Monday as it was announced 16-year-old forward Jordan Boyd died after collapsing during training camp with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.According to a QMJHL release, Boyd "suffered a discomfort" before he Oscar Colas Jersey collapsed on the ice. Titan training staff tried to revive Boyd several times, the League said. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. :The League was informed of the incident and is working in collaboration with the team to bring the nece sary support to the parents and players in these difficult times. Jordan Boyd had had a complete medical evaluation prior to the camp and didn't seem to have any medical problems that prevented him from participating. We are waiting for the hospital's autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. We offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones.Boyd was a fourth-round selection of Acadie-Bathurst in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft. According to , Boyd played for Rothesay Neterwood School last season, where he posted 39 points in 41 games.These stories are never easy to stomach and even harder to understand.
