The Witch of the Wastes quest begins at the Ruined Tower in Wejinhani, located on the map's southern part. Your first task is to find Valtha in the Cinder Wastes, a region situated north-northeast of your current position. Open your map to see the encircled area, which marks your destination.

The closest point of interest to reach the Cinder Wastes is the Cinder Shack Cell. Once you arrive, expect to face hostile mobs. You can either engage in battle or simply ride your mount and circle around the enemies. Keep heading north, and you will eventually reach Valtha’s Hovel, where the next stage of your quest awaits.

Searching Valtha's Hovel

Upon arriving at Valtha’s Hovel, you will need to search the area for the Purified Quicksilver. Look for a small glowing circle on your mini-map to locate the specific area. Once there, examine objects such as Valtha’s Manifesto and her Spellbook. Reading these items will trigger the arrival of Valtha herself.

The Battle with Valtha

Valtha, a powerful witch, will initiate a boss fight as soon as you interact with her. She may appear slow, but don’t let that fool you—her magic is deadly. While moving around the arena, Valtha will take her time to summon powerful spells, including meteors that will rain down from above. Keep an eye on the red glowing marks on the ground to avoid being hit by these attacks.

Additionally, Valtha can summon mobs to assist her during the fight. When you see blood seals appearing on the ground, this means new enemies are about to spawn. Quickly dispatch them before turning your focus back to Valtha. As her health drops, more summoning circles will appear, bringing even more enemies into the fray. Be sure to finish her off quickly before the battlefield becomes overwhelmed with mobs.

Once defeated, loot the items dropped by Valtha, including the Vial of Purified Quicksilver.

Returning to Donan

After vanquishing Valtha, your final task is to return to the Ruined Tower in Wejinhani to give Donan the Vial of Purified Quicksilver. If you’ve unlocked the Waypoint for the Ruined Tower, you can fast travel there quickly. Upon your return, approach the table in the center of the room, where Donan will instruct you to place the vial into a bowl. Afterward, speak to Taissa about your encounter with Valtha, and the quest will be formally completed.
